Unholy Trinity Influence Rules

No starting influence above 3. This is not debatable. No matter how good your pc is or what the background you write is no pc shall be approved with influences above level 4.

Anyone with Influence 3 must have the approval of Influence/Mortal ST.

Actions using Influence

There will be two types of actions, resulting in a different system for success, Minor Actions and Major Actions. This will be determined by the ST over-seeing the scene.

For Minor Actions (level 1-2): Roll your Manipulation+Influence rating at difficulty 6 base. This difficulty will be lowered on a one for one basis for those characters with Charisma 3 or higher. If you succeed the action goes through as planned.

Example: Donovan has Influence 2 in Bureaucracy and wants to acquire a free parking permit. The Influence ST deems this to be a Minor Action. Donovan has a Manipulation score of 3. So Donovan rolls his Manipulation+Influence for a total of 5 dice at difficulty 6. Donovan also has Charisma 4, which subtracts 2 from the difficulty making the final difficulty 4.

For Major Actions (level 3+): Roll your Manipulation+Influence rating at difficulty 8 base. Multiple successes may be needed; this is up to the ST present. High Charisma scores do not lower the difficulty for Major Actions. Don't expect those to come through immediately also.

Unholy Trinity Influence System

It should be noted that the power suggestions beside each rank of Influence are suggestions, not hard and fast rules. This is to give the ST an idea of what the character can do…and even then, it's up to the discretion of the ST. The big picture is that Influence is not something easily gained or maintained, and that serious role playing will have to done in order to gain any Influence. Some common sense needs to be used with Influence as well.
