(IC)Little Rats in a big Town |
|
The streets of Chinatown seem to have been hit with abit of a rat plague lately. More then one bakery, butchershop, or any kind of store holding food goods, have complained about rats getting into their food supply and looting them. It seems the little sneaky monsters are fearless about their foraging for food. The odd thing is, they never seem to just eat it, they seem to be "hording" it, by grabbing the goods and scurrying away with their prize between their teeth. One might notice the rats look extraordinarily large, fat, perhaps more then average.
OOC Note:
Tatsuya, your teahouse has strangely been spared sofar.

Wei Wei Reports to Shinigami that a Small Bakery was likewise attacked by a small swarm of the rats, its most likely not natural given their size and the fact that a bigger specimen of them actually chewed thru a concrete wall i the basement to let the smaller ones inside.... Wei Wei's "Boys" have closed the hole with a metal plate. Are there any Bakemono that can create of control such beast? or Oni?

(Wei Wei, you get together with me for some rolls IC... meanwhile...)
The rats have become more bold, openly sitting amongst the Market stalls, until chased away. Often one finds them underfoot, only knowing this when one hears a loud hissing squeek from stepping on a tail. The rats seem fat and happy, taking whatever source of nourishment they can find, growing bloated on the refuse, or freshly made foods in the shops of mankind

The Rats on the street are still strangely avoiding Tatsuyas shop, and now, they no longer seem to be bothering the one bakery where Tatsuya had set a Jade statue, charged with chi. The Jade Ward seemed to scare the rats from entering, suggesting that they may be something of the Shen world.
It has gotten worse however. Residents are turning to extreme measures in keeping the rats at bay, and somehow there is a kind of violent retaliation. One shop member, who not only had set out traps, but also had set out rat poison, and was using a machette to keep the rats from his shop, was found dead by the local police one evening, in his own shop, with multiple deep bite wounds, and vicious deep claw like marks. Police are baffled to believe that a wild animal of some size must be on the loose in Chinatown
