Use the standard creation rules for mortals found in one of the many books where they appear, as we're not allowed to reprint the rules on our website. As for "special concepts" see the following. And remember, your character must be 18 years old or older.
Make sure that you pick a workable, viable concept. For the most part, the loner type characters don’t usually do well on the chats, because, well, they want to be left alone, and as this can be a pretty social game, you may want to avoid making a loner concept.
Before you are ready to be sanctioned, make sure that all your points are distributed correctly and that you followed the creation rules. This helps me save time, time that I can spend with you during a ?scene instead of correcting mistakes
While you are making this character, remember that mortals are one of the most important venues in any World of Darkness game. Mortals are the glue that pulls everything together. Mortals are where monsters come from. Mortals are the ones supernatural beings both desire and fear. Don’t make a mortal just for the sake of having one, make a mortal character to role play one and role play well.
Starting characters will have some restrictions:
1.) No Willpower higher than 5 to start with, at all. Willpower can later be purchased using experience points.
2.) No attributes or Abilities higher than three…mortals are much weaker than supernaturals and plus, it often takes a mortal decades to become so proficient as to justify a 4 or 5 in an ability or attribute.
3.) Certain merits are off limits. Merits that are specific to supernaturals are of course, not allowed. At this time, the following are not allowed: true faith, jack of all trades, Nightmares, Lucky, Iron Will, Magical Resistance. Others will be restricted or allowed at the discretion of the ST. If you abuse your merits or do not role play your flaws, they will be taken away from you, and Flaws you will have to use experience points to buy off.
4.) No starting character may begin play with more than 2 dots in influence without a very good reason.
5.) No character may have more than 3 dots (keeping in mind the rule on influence) in any background.
Things you must do before you will be sanctioned
1.) Write a brief background on your character to flesh her out.
2.) Make sure that you have looked over your sheet and everything is where it is supposed to be.
3.) Make sure that your equipment is sensible and reasonable (I will not be sanctioning katana wielding, stake toting, mac-10 firing berserker mortals named Olaf the Mad Swede)
That is pretty much it. I tend to be fairly open minded about most concepts, so don’t worry about your concept being obliterated, just make sure that it works with the chronicle and is compatible with most other characters.
For those of you who enjoy role playing in the mortal venue, I look forward to gaming with you. For those of you who delight in being disruptive and twinky, a caution: I will not be sanctioning Highlander wannabes, mindless killers, hero worshiping combat monsters, or mass puppy kickers. At all. Be advised.
If you are creating a mortal and DO NOT want to be ghouled please tag your eq like this : [Do Not Ghoul] . If you do not do this, you are free game to any vampire.
Mortal Healing times: (as per book pg 263 VtM) However anything beyond 2 bashing requires medical attention. All lethal requires medical attention (agg becomes lethal to humans )
