The Longos is the oldest street gang in Long Beach, California, made up of several smaller cliques from the 53 gangs active the in the area. "Longo" is the local caló term for Long Beach, but the term has been regarded more specifically as a reference to these gangs since the 1970s. The use of the term for street gangs has been known to police since a shooting in 1979 at the Carmelitos housing project, but the gang may have been active earlier, according to the Long Beach Police Department's Gang Detail. Multigenerational Hispanic gangs account for nearly two-thirds of all California gangs.

The Longos gang was split geographically at an early stage and three gangs are currently known to use the name: The East Side Longos, the West Side Longos, and the North Side Longos.

The East Side Longos is a large Mexican-American gang rooted in the Hispanic community along Anaheim Street in Long Beach.

The streets are crappy; the houses well most have their windows nailed shut to stop bullets from entering their homes...

One thing you could know is, once a week there's always some big street race going on near HC's shop. Good money, plenty of booze and hot chica's what does one want more....

During the day the kids can be seen out playing on the street and all seems fun in this low income neighborhood

Yet, even it being gang turf, they all get along and touching one of the 18th is getting the entire 18th and Old Bloods hunting you down, and that’s something’s you don't want, whether your mortal, werewolf or vampire...they can all run, but in the end you'll turn on the wrong corner of LA and find your ass Burning in your bullet infested car....

So seriously, you don't want to be there if you ain't got no business there...

East side Long Beach is a large area of Long Beach that is west of Interstate 605 (San Gabriel Freeway) and north of Interstate 405 (San Diego Freeway). The large El Dorado Park (which includes a golf course and nature center) forms the eastern boundary, and the city of Lakewood and Heartwell Park is to the north. Lakewood Boulevard and the Long Beach Municipal Airport form the western boundary.

Millikan High School, part of the Long Beach Unified School District, is at the Palo Verde Avenue and Spring Street.
