Camarilla Setting

Welcome to the City of Angels!

The city of L.A. is led by Prince Sascha Wouters. In this diverse city, newcomers once again are welcomed with open, yet firm arms. In the recently past years a struggle overtook this city and a shift occurred in the city’s leadership. A small group (including Damek Navartil, Kansas Starr, Alexi Black, Ivanka Uritski, and Alice Gracie) led by Sascha Wouters manipulated the weaknesses of the stagnant reign in order to overtake the city. Many of the clans either fled the city or attempted to resist the struggle, which led to their destruction in the end. Now, as newcomers arrive it is known the shift for the greater good is complete. Almost anyone coming here now can find a community to be a part of. L.A. has grown and profited from this struggle among the Kindred just as hardworking immigrants have in the past.

The city of angels has gone through a rough time lately in this period. With the event of a massive earthquake leveling most of the city back in late October of 1999. Riots spanned the entire city for the course of three full days until one celestial event stopped all in their tracks. Lucifer, the Morninglord, showed himself and all his angelic glory to the citizens of L.A. and the world at large. Most brushed it off as some hoax or publicity stunt. However, everyone was touched in some way by the event. Slowly, Los Angeles has been rebuilding and has recovered all power yet there is prime real-estate up for grabs still as the buildings in their place were leveled.

One of the weaknesses that took a small hold in the city during the struggle was the Sabbat seizing the opportunity of temporary unrest in which to form a nomadic pack within the territory. Archon Christian Metzger is in L.A. to aid in ridding this Camarilla territory of this unfortunate and unwelcome problem during the new formation of L.A.'s Court. Los Angeles not only has been constant target to Sabbat ploys lately, but they are being stared down by the Sabbat right across the border.

Now that the struggle is over and the city is reformed, Seneschal Bruce Nikitin leads and rules the city along side the Prince. Along with the power of the Prince Nikitin is known for his do-or-die mentality in getting the job done. Other members of the Camarilla Court include the Scourge, an elegantly dressed fellow who seems to only meet with the Prince under the context of business. He’s known simply as Sr. Fabio. He is a man of Spanish decent seen wearing a well-fitted, coffee colored suit. Sr. Fabio stands at nearly six feet tall weighing a thin 160lbs. No one sees or hears anything of him except when he arrives to report of something to the Prince or other court officials. So little is known of him including what clan he hails from and where he goes between reports. It is said he has only been in the city a few weeks now, but already the rumor mill churns of what this mysterious Spaniard may be up to or from whence he comes.

Sheriff Devin Campbell is a hard-nosed, no nonsense representative of the council who keeps the streets of Los Angeles safe under Wouters' rule. Campbell easily moves through all circles of kindred society; even putting the more unrefined clans at ease. She is quick to handle affairs with her open-door policy. Devin can often be found at her business, Spades Bail Bonds, located one mile from the twin towers county correctional facility in the heart of Los Angeles.

Regent Magnus Greifenwald, of the Chantry of the Iron Soul in Los Angeles, is a mysterious and refined man of Germanic descent. Rumors have it that he came as a personal request from an old friend to lead the shattered remnants of the Tremere clan due to the falling out of favor by the rogue clan member Kaleed Morghoul. Since the death of the traitor and the building of the Chantry of the Iron Soul, the Tremere are beginning to slowly return to glory...to once more become a stable pillar of Camarilla strength.

The Clan Representatives are as follows in Los Angeles:

Toreador Primogen Fredrich VonHolstein has established the Wilshire Theater as the clan’s Domain located in Beverly Hills in order to be welcome place for new arrivals of his clan. The ideals of the Clan are to stand by their arts and humanities, frequenting high society galas such as art shows and media events. Sure, the individual members of the Clan might have partaken in some of the less reputable lifestyles such as exotic dancing and pornography, but as a whole the clan itself remains highly respected in L.A.

Brujah Primogen Connor Lachlan seeks for his clan and new arrivals to the bar, known as McGinty's, located on the Southeast part of Downtown LA. The Brujah have always been known to be a diversified group of individuals often finding their tempers to lead them to paths of rivalry and antagonism instead of unity and trust. His goals are to unite the clan in order to consolidate their sheer power into a single driving force that would know no equal within the city. Despite past temperamental outbursts, he has reverted back to the cold, quiet rabble to better lead his diverse brothers and sisters to this goal. His plans are soon to ensure the protection of the “weaker” clans by the Brujah stepping up and compensating where the others appear to be insufficient. The Irishman and his proud clan will no longer suffer that which needs to be weeded out and it will show in their intolerance and stubborn, mule-headed tempers that they are so happily known for.

Demetiri Ramanov Venture Primogen gathers his clan at the Imperial Gentlemen’s club located on the North Side of Downtown L.A. The clan’s ideals are to strengthen and stabilize the business realm within the city. The clan’s goals are to control the vital parts of influences and control police and politicians while rebuilding and strengthening under Wouters’ reign.

Malkavians, led by Primogen Alice Gracie, hold their meetings within the Camarillo State Mental Hospital located about 30 minutes northwest of L.A. in the rolling hills area. The clan is one of the most unique members of the city, albeit a little distant from the greater part of the Kindred in the city. Most of them reside together in the separated closed down wing of the Camarillo State Mental Hospital. The clan is making efforts to help rebuild the city by assuming key positions of authority including keepers and Master Harpy.

Under the leadership of Regent Magnus Greifenwald, the Tremere meet within the Chantry of the Iron Soul. The rogue Kaleed Morghoul, who had corrupted the minds and hearts of our younger apprentices, led them down a path that broke the Tremere code no longer walks the earth. The battle that ended the terror regime of the self proclaimed Regent left the clan’s reputation in shambles. Now with the arrival of the new Regent and the building of the new Chantry of the Iron Soul there is also new hope. Tremere are now integrated into the Camarilla once again. There is no more scheming against the organization, but instead working alongside the rest of the court to become a driving force in this city again.

The remaining Gangrels that reside within the Camarilla under the Elder Gena Norvell still have a neutral territory within Griffith Park. The clan works together, following the lead of their highly respected Elder. As far as clans go, they’re not the most organized and cohesive. Among the few still residing in the city, they proficiently utilize their ability to call the clan together to battle for their ideals and beliefs in a unified cause supporting the Camarilla coterie.

As well inside the city limits can be found Trajan Miller. Another lesser elder but of great renowned reputable association within the city. Known to be found at the University of California- Los Angeles working as a professor working in the Department of Ecology & Evolutionary Biology. His primary interest is in the maintenance of the zoological park and the welfare of of the animals and plants within. He feels that people are too disconnected from the "real world," and hopes that exposure to the well-kept parks, museums, and zoos will awaken some sense of wonder.the animals and plants within. A small gathering of some helpful Ravnos has acquired, through a contract with the Prince, the Cirque de Douleurs: Circus of Sorrows, the shadow that hides the reality as an independent Domain.

Not many western Kindred are familiar with the New Promise Mandarinate set in place in San Francisco when the strange foreigners came to seize the territory from under the Camarilla rule. With distrust towards the odd, eastern Kindred from abroad it may seem bizarre to find that a Prince was willing to grant domain to one of their kind. There were reasons behind her decision, but many may ask why. The foreigner Cathayan had come alone some time ago from a far off land across the wide Pacific Ocean. He has come to understand the western Kindred, or “Kin Jin,” as his people call them. In the wake of several incidents after his arrival, during which he saved the lives of the Prince and Sheriff, he had managed to aid the invigorated Camarilla in strengthening its standing within the city. Such actions included helping the sect in destroying one of the dreaded Anathemas without seeking a reward. For this, the Prince granted him domain for he and his own. In Los Angeles, only those Cathayans who would obey Camarilla law and not undermine it would be welcome. In result, at least in the city, a fragile truce seems to exist. A truce that keeps the easterners from doing battle with the westerners so long as they are not of the Sabbat.
