Spawning Pools Background (not in book) |

Spawning Pools
Gary had been following that little pussbag through these bent sewer corridors for some time now. The little freak couldn’t be lasting much longer, not after the grievous wounds Gary had dealt him. The Sabbat gang banger figured he would quite enjoy the pain filled screams of that little Nosferatu puke. There he was up ahead, at a sewer junction, finally, this hunt would end and Gary would return home with one head more for his collection. The young Sewer Rat was wading waist deep in a catchbasin, probably trying to hide himself from his attacker by submerging. Gary laughed as he stepped into the junction, eyes gleaming with the thrill of the hunt. The Nosferatu let out a pflemy chuckle, as he turned to face the Sabbat “Welcome to our world punk, too bad you weren’t on the guest list”. Gary saw little lumps breaking the surface of the water. First one, then another, and another, each having a set of gleaming, feral eyes. They looked like rats, but how the fuck did rats get that big? It didn’t look like Gary was going to have time to ask… by the time it was over, Pug, the young neonate, dusted off his hands, leaving the remains of the Antitribue to be dealt with by the Spawning pools hungry hordes. Always so many mouths to feed, good thing the Sabbat were so happy to provide…
You are in possession of, or have been entrusted with, the responsibilities of a spawning pool. You and your storyteller sit together and decide where in your city this spawning pool is located, as well as what kind of creatures feed from that pool. Weather above, or underground, when you are near your spawning pool, you gain the amount of dice in this background, to your Animalism rolls when using “Feral Whispers”, “Beckoning”, or “Subsume the Spirit”. The creatures that are summoned from this pool are considered to have increased Strength and Stamina (increase each of those Traits by one). They are warped, twisted, more powerful versions of what they once were, and are vicious. If they are not fed regularly (one blood point per week placed into the pool), they will fall into a constant state of frenzy. Whenever provoked with a chance to feed (like if a child should stick its hand down a storm drain), the creature must make a Willpower roll at difficulty 9 to avoid savaging its victim. Any other information on such pools is found in the Nosferatu clan book, page 60.
1 -Your pool is small and visited by only a handful of creatures.
2 -You have a decent pool with a small crowd of creatures that visit it.
3 -Your Spawning pool is sizable with a strong number of creatures.
4 -Your pool is large, and it plays host to several families of creatures.
5 -Your pool is almost legendary, and gives birth to many urban legends.
