The Traditions
In our setting the traditions are an important fact. Every vampire who comes to the city knows what is written below which is how the Prince and those in power think about the traditions. This is the result of either a talk to their local primogen or of personal research in the matter. Every smart neonate who travels makes sure he knows how the local rulers of the locale where he is travelling to in order to establish himself think about the traditions. After all in this case the difference between knowledge and the lack of knowledge could be the same as between life and death.
‘The Traditions are the backbone of the Camarilla. Infractions against the traditions will be treated as infractions against the goals of the Camarilla and as such will be judged as the treason they are.’ A comment used by the Prince to address the Primogen during a council.
‘The Traditions are not really made to protect the Elders from the younger ones. We can destroy you with a mere touch, bend your wills as if they were non-existent and these are only the most widely known of our powers. They exist to give you the chance to survive, to grow and to protect you from our wrath should you stray. But be very aware, these laws have many loopholes and we have become quite adept at exploiting them over the centuries…’ Words used by Leviaticus, Brujah Elder, to a wayward neonate who did not get the use of the traditions.
‘Ignorance of the law is no excuse. For the traditions, the same applies. Hence I hereby sentence you to meet the Eye of Heaven.’ verdict at a trial.
The First Tradition: The Masquerade
The Second Tradition: Hospitality
The Third Tradition: Domain
The Fourth Tradition: Progeny
The Fifth Tradition: Accounting
The Sixth Tradition: Destruction
Requird reading material to play in the camarilla game Is the VTM core book. Guide to the Camarilla also suggested. The traditions are listed inboth books. If you have any questions about these traditions please ask your Camarilla ST or Midnight Ghost (HST).
Also, please realize that the prince may have different view points on the traditions and politics involved in this game. Know these traditions so you can manipulate your own political actions within the sect.
